It is a known fact now that I love playing with my hair. My
motto is “Keep it big and curly and don’t you dare mind the color!”
My hair often walks in before I do, and yes looking for the
tall black girl is a great way to find me in a room filled with people but so
is looking for a head with unruly curls. Having the best hair squad to keep
this beast under control, a memorable customer service and the top of the line products would be a shame keeping for myself.
LaSalle is filled with little barbershops, hair salon and
beauty hair shop boutique. I can honestly say that I have tried them all,
experience what some call customer service and got disappointed by a few. However, there is one I always go back to and
I must say that our association was inevitable. Gilgal Beauty Connection has
the best extensions, hair care and beauty products to make me look and feel beautiful.

It is with a bright smile that the owner of the boutique
received me a little over a month ago. As we got to know each other I realized
that the customer service is a reflection of her great personality: kind,
generous and attentive to ones needs. We went on talking about the boutique, its
name and the products that it offers.
Farline: What does
the name stands for?
Gilgal Beauty Connection: The name was chosen from
the bible. A lot of people think that is derivation of my husband’s name but it
is not.
F: Why go to your boutique instead of any other one?
GBC: I feel that the boutique is like a one stop shop. One
can come in the boutique a find a variety of natural hair care products, beauty supplies and the most sought after hair extensions. Our customers are not coming here
just to shop, oh no. They often come to get educated on different products because we
are very knowledgeable about what we are selling. We will never let a client
come into the shop get something and leave. Instead, we make sure that they got what they were really looking for as we are informing them on the product they are hoping the purchase, we advised them on what would or could perhaps work best for them. A lot of researching is also
done on a product or a makeup brand before they even hit our shelves.
F: How would you describe your clientele?
GBC: This is hard question…. I would say that we get quite a
good variation of Caucasian and African Canadian customer. The hair business has
changed, it used to be almost exclusive to woman of color. Nowadays, they are for the mainstream woman regardless of her skin color and hair
type. I must also mention that the makeup brands that we carry are for
all shade of colors therefore attracts a broad range of woman. One
of our bestseller in the boutique are eyelashes. This trend is here to stay and Gilgal Beauty Connection offers all kinds of length from the synthetic to a more natural feel of lashes.
F: What do you define as a great customer service?
GBC: Very simple, we treat the client like we would like to
be treated. We do not push sales or anything but
simply educate our clients on how what they were looking for could be replace
by something of equal or superior quality.
F: What kind of products can we find here and how do you
decide what goes on your boutique shelves?
GBC: Well we try to stay on top the products that are
trending. We really do our best to get the hip and happening product at the top of their respective categories.
F: What do you think are the trends for the spring/summer?
GBC: In terms of braids, I definitely think the crochet braid are what will be mostly seen this season. Done in different colors and textures it is a protective haire style that offers a "natural look" to whomever decides to sport it. As for the weaves, the retro chic bob hairstyle is a definite "must try"
F: Can some who want to keep their natural hair out be able to find products in the boutique?
GBC: We carry a lot of natural products, we offer advices
along with protective care products for natural hair. We make sure
that we are educated on natural hair care treaments in order to provide the best customer service
possible.
